On December 13, 2024, at Karaganda Medical University, Saule Tulegenovna Sapiyeva successfully defended her dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on the topic: “Comprehensive Assessment of Inguinal Canal Autoplasty Results Using a Displaced Aponeurotic Flap” under the educational program 6D110100 – Medicine.
According to the Standard Regulations on the Dissertation Council, the session included temporary members from among Kazakhstan's leading specialists:
- Kairat Tanabaevich Shakeev, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Department of Surgical Diseases, Karaganda Medical University, Karaganda;
- Marina Alexeevna Morenko, PhD, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Pediatrics with courses in Allergology, Immunology, Hematology, and Endocrinology, Astana Medical University, Astana;
- Natalia Valerievna Klimova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Department of Multidisciplinary Clinical Training, Surgut State University, Surgut, Russian Federation.
Scientific Advisors:
- Makas Tynyshykpaevich Aliyakparov – Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Oncology and Radiodiagnosis, Karaganda Medical University, Karaganda, Republic of Kazakhstan;

Following a secret ballot, the Dissertation Council petitioned the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan to award the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
