World Diabetes Day is annually observed on November 14, the birthday of Frederick Banting, who discovered insulin together with Charles Best in 1922.
The World Diabetes Day events aim to raise public awareness of diabetes, its rising global incidence rates, and timely disease prevention measures.
Under the guidance of Professor G.G. Eremicheva, second-year residents conducted a round table discussion on the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic polyneuropathy for doctors and patients with diabetes mellitus, based on the Communal State Enterprise “Clinic No. 5.”
These measures will help in compensating for the disease and preventing the progression of vascular complications in patients with pre-existing diabetes mellitus. They will also aid in the timely identification of disorders of carbohydrate metabolism within the population.
