Following the celebration of Nauryz, a photo and video contest was held among second-year students of the International Medical Faculty, focusing on their perceptions and impressions of the spring holiday in the city of Karaganda. The aim of the contest was to promote discussion on intercultural communication among international students and their experience of the urban environment where they live and study. The works were evaluated based on originality, creativity, and the storytelling behind the photos and videos. Many students celebrated Nauryz together with their Kazakhstani friends studying at our university. For many, it was their first time trying traditional Kazakh dishes, with baursaks receiving special praise. The submitted photo and video works demonstrated great diversity and creative approaches, making it quite difficult to determine the winners. All participants were awarded symbolic national souvenirs and sweets. The contest was organized and conducted by Assistant Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social-Political Disciplines, N.A. Mingisheva.
