V International Competition “Samarkand - 2020” for students of medical universities

V International Competition “Samarkand - 2020” for students of medical universities was held on December 13-14, 2024 in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan.

The main purpose of the International Competition was to provide knowledge on different areas of medicine, to spur students' interest in learning activities, to demonstrate practical and clinical skills, to create opportunities to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in practical activities.

The Competition consisted of 3 stages and was conducted in offline/online format.

  • The first stage: testing.
  • Second stage: solving problem and situational tasks, assessment of practical skills.

According to the results of the Competition:  Aisha Tanas, a 5th year student of the School of Medicine (group 5-001), took the honorable 1st place (online participation); Karina Baidavletova, a 4th year student of the School of Medicine (group 4-025), took the honorable 3rd place in the subject “Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases” (online participation);  Daryn Shakenuly Beisen, a 5th year student of the School of Medicine (group 5-029), took an honorable 3rd place in the subject “Pathophysiology”;  Aiganim Erdoskyzy Mursal, a student of the group 7-004 of the School of Medicine won in the nomination “Best scientific work”;  Daryn Tolegen, a 6th year student of the School of Medicine, won in the nomination “Scientific approach to solving problem”;  Aruzhan Mavletkyzy Kozhabay, a student of the School of Dentistry, was awarded for “Best solution of case problem”;  Sanzhar Alimzhanovich Zhamalbek, a student of the group 5-022 SHM, was noted in the nomination for “Best performance of practical work”;  Merey Rashidkyzy Shayyk, student of the group 4017 SHM, was awarded for “Best solution of case problem”;  Ayazhan Asilbekkyzy Konys, student of the 4th year of the School of Medicine (group 4014), became “All-round champion”;  Tuimebay Tursunbai, student of the 4th year of the School of Medicine, won in the nomination “Clinical thinking”. 

Also, within the framework of the Competition, the Dean of the School of Medicine of KMU, Professor  Bauyrzhan Kadenovich Omarkulov conducted a workshop on “Development and Modernization of Nursing Science in the Republic of Kazakhstan” for faculty members and students of 3,4,5 years of the Faculty of Medical Pedagogy, Nursing and Traditional Medicine of Samarkand State Medical University.
