Students of the “Biomedicine” Program in Yakutia
8 December 2025
On December 1-2, 2025, 3rd and 4th year students from the Institute of Life Sciences performed brilliantly at the All-Russian Student Olympiad in Medical Microbiology and Infectology “Microbe Hunters”, which became part of the XVI National Congress with international participation “Ecology and Human Health in the North”, dedicated to the 220th anniversary of healthcare in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The team represented the university in a worthy way, winning 1st and 3rd place among the most skillful students in their respective fields from across the country.

The Olympiad included three intense and extremely challenging stages, testing not only the participants' theoretical training, but also their practical skills, scientific thinking, and creative approach:
- Intellectual quiz on microbiology is a deep test of knowledge on morphology, physiology, and microbial genetics, as well as advanced methods of diagnostics of infectious diseases.
- Solving case studies at professional stations:
– "Clinical Bacteriology"
– "Clinical Virology"
– "Antibiogram"
– "Immunocompetence"
– "Ambulance Patrol"
This stage simulated real clinical settings requiring rapid analysis, accurate interpretation of laboratory data, and making correct diagnostic decisions.
- "Armed and Especially Dangerous" creativity competition was a homework assignment in which teams prepared onstage mini productions on the topic of highly infectious diseases, biological threats, and extremely virulent microorganisms.
The participants demonstrated not only scientific erudition, but also artistry, creativity, and the ability to clearly explain complex biomedical processes in a creative format.

The Micronauts team presented itself in outstanding, professional and confident way: Abdulmalik Sapybek, Dilnaz Kabdualiyeva, Ayala Imagambetova, Kozhakhmet Zhumagali, Zhuldyzay Kalmukhanbet.
Supervisor Ilya Andreyevich Belyaev made a huge contribution to the team's preparation, helping to hone both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Participation in the Olympiad confirmed the high standard of students' training and the institute's scientific and educational potential. The victory was a significant achievement not only for the team but also for the entire university, enhancing
