From October 25 to 27, the Republican Student Olympiad “ШИПАГЕР ШЫҢДАРЫ” was held, to mark the 75th anniversary of our university.
Teams from the following medical universities participated in the Olympiad: Karaganda Medical University, Astana Medical University, Semey Medical University, and Ospanov Medical University.



The Olympiad consisted of the following rounds:
“ШЫҒАРМАШЫЛЫҚ” – “Creative stage” (Presentation)
“КҮШ ПЕН РУХ” – “Strength and spirit” (Sports stage)
“ДӘЛДІК ПЕН ЕПТІЛІК” – practical stage “Domain of emergencies”
“БІЛІМ БӘЙГЕСІ” – “Intellectual stage” (Q&A)
“ҒЫЛЫМ КЕРУЕНІ” – Competition of research works.



During the practical stage, “Domain of emergencies,” students worked in teams, analyzing patients’ medical histories and suggesting best practices of diagnosis and treatment. This stage enabled them to demonstrate critical thinking and teamwork skills.
In the competition, future medical professionals had to demonstrate their skills in providing rescue emergency care, both in peacetime and in public emergency.



Following the results of all competitions, the panel of judges decided the winners: two honorable third places were taken by the medical university from Astana, the Alma-mater team, and the Ospanov Medical University from Aktobe.
Second place was awarded to the Surgery Trends team from Astana Medical University.
First place to Semey Medical University.



The panel of judges unanimously decided to award the most significant prize, the grand prix, to the team from Karaganda Medical University.
According to many participants, the main reward was the invaluable experience and opportunity to test their skills in a competitive environment.
This event was a true celebration of science, team spirit, and expertise, bringing together the most talented and committed future doctors.
Conducting such competitions plays an integral role in shaping the new generation of medical professionals. Such events not only identify the most talented students, but also contribute to the development of scientific thinking and motivation for research.
Many participants noted that the competition strengthened their team spirit and enabled them to connect with colleagues from other universities and obtain incredibly rewarding experience, which demonstrated how important well- coordinated work and peer support are.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony, after which participants and mentors had the opportunity to communicate in an informal setting, discussing achievements and plans for the future. The success of the Olympiad confirms that the future of Kazakhstani medicine is well-handled.
