Modern Opportunities and Priority Areas in Nephrology

On December 4–5, 2025, Central Asian Congress of Nephrologists on “Modern Opportunities and Priority Areas in Nephrology” was held in Almaty, bringing together leading experts from Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, and China. The congress became an important platform for discussing current achievements in nephrology, exchanging research results, and enhancing case-based approach.
During the meeting, employees of Karaganda Medical University - Associate Professor from the Department of Internal Medicine I.V. Bacheva and Professor L.K. Ibrayeva delivered a report on the topic of Пульмо-кардио-ренальный континуум: новые аспекты межорганных взаимодействий»
(“Pulmo-Cardio-Renal Continuum: New Aspects of Inter-organ Communication.”)
In addition, I.V. Bacheva acted as a moderator for scientific sections and the competition of young scientists.
Following the results of the competition of young scientists, diplomas were awarded in the following categories:
• “Promising Young Scientist in Nephrology” – E.R. Suleimanova, intern with a specialization in “Therapy,” presentation on «Уровень осведомленности врачей первичного звена о хронической болезни почек» (“Level of Awareness of Primary Care Providers on Chronic Kidney Disease.”)
• “Promising Researcher in Nephrology” – G.B. Khamraeva, second year resident in “Nephrology (Adult and Pediatric),” presentation on Уремический зуд: влияние на качество жизни и терапевтические стратегии» (“Uremic Pruritus: Impact on Quality of Life and Treatment Strategies.”)
• “Novelty and Originality” – O.S. Klassen, presentation on «Трехлетняя динамика почечной функции у пациентов с ХОБЛ и ССД-ИЗЛ» (“Three-Year Dynamics of Renal Function in Patients with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Diffuse SSc - Interstitial Lung Disease.”)
Attendance of employees and students of Karaganda Medical University highlighted their strong professional training and commitment to advancing nephrology at both national and international levels.
