The conference marking World Mental Health Day, which has become a tradition at Karaganda Medical University, has concluded. It was co-organized by the Regional Mental Health Center of the Karaganda region and the Center for Psychotherapy of Evgeniya Ivanova. 

The World Psychiatric Association defined its theme for World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2024, as "Mental health in the workplace."

Presentations by Russian and Kazakhstani speakers focused on the global issue of labor, with an emphasis on raising awareness of the problem of psychiatric patients' ability to work and increasing their possibilities to work for the benefit of society. The plenary session, three master classes, and six conference sections all featured topical reports.

At the conference, the new head of the Karaganda region's psychiatric service, Director of the Regional Center for Mental Health, Candidate of Medical Sciences Zulfikar Abilkassimov, presented a report on current issues in psychiatric science and practice.

The reports of the teachers of the course of Psychiatry and Narcology of the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry and Rehabilitation of the Karaganda Medical University, psychiatrists of the Center for Mental Health, psychotherapists of the Center for Psychotherapy Evgeniya Ivanova, corporate psychologists, educational psychologists, young resident psychiatrists demonstrated a wide range of achievements in psychology, psychiatry, narcology, and psychotherapy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
