From October 31 to November 3, the International Medical Olympiad “The Medicine of the Future” and the Scientific Conference on “Antibiotic Resistance: Modern Challenges and Solutions” were held at Central Asian University (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), bringing together representatives from 12 countries — Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, the Czech Republic, India, Turkiye, China, Tajikistan, Russia, and etc.
Karaganda Medical University – HIKMET team was represented by 4th- and 5th-year students from the School of Medicine: B.B. Zhumadullayev, K.I. Baidavletova, K.O. Akhmetova, R.E. Shortanov, M.A. Mirkhamutova, and a team supervisor, Y.V. Sapailidi, instructor at the Center for Simulation and Educational Technologies.





The team successfully passed all stages of the Olympiad, from BLS (Basic Life Support) to clinical case solving, entering the TOP-10 best teams out of 46 participants, and achieving a leading position among the universities representing the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the conference, participants discussed pressing issues of global healthcare and issues of prudent use of antibiotics, and attended lectures by leading professors from the United States, and Nobel laureate Edvard Moser.
All participants were awarded certificates and diplomas. Appreciation letter was sent to B.N. Kosherova, Chairman of the Board - Rector of KMU.
Words of gratitude are extended to G.S. Kemelova, Director of the Center for Simulation and Educational Technologies, for her comprehensive support, excellence, and contribution to developing international collaboration and training the team for the Olympiad; and to the team supervisor  Y.V. Sapailidi, for her dedication, attentive supervision, motivation, and inspiration, with which the team worthily represented Karaganda Medical University on the international stage.
This event became an important platform for sharing experience, professional development, and strengthening international relations between students and young doctors.
