The Congress is dedicated to the Anniversary of Academician of National Academy of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Winner of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Ilyas Kulmagambetov and Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sabira Zhaugasheva 

The Congress is a significant event that united leading specialists in clinical pharmacology fr om different countries (Kazakhstan, New Zealand, United States, Norway, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Ukraine).

“Clinical pharmacology is the foundation of medicine, determining the efficacy, safety, and rational use of drugs. In today's world, wh ere the number of pharmaceuticals and technologies is rapidly increasing, your work helps to navigate the complex range of therapeutic solutions, minimize the risks for patients and achieve maximum benefit from treatment," - welcomed the participants of the Congress Vice Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Nurlybayev.

The Congress provides a unique platform for the exchange of knowledge, new ideas and best practices.

Participants of the IV Congress of Clinical Pharmacologists of Kazakhstan put together a number of recommendations. To improve the quality of medical education and science it is necessary to further introduce modern technologies in teaching clinical pharmacology. Particular consideration must be given to pharmacogenetics and individualized approaches to treatment of patients. To improve outpatient drug provision, the Congress emphasizes the importance of developing strategies to improve outpatient drug provision based on the Norwegian model, with a focus on orphan diseases. The development of clinical pharmacology can be promoted by strengthening support for research activities in clinical pharmacology with a focus on the introduction of personalized therapy. On the safety of drug therapy, initiatives to improve the safety of drug therapy are supported, including training medical staff and the population. (Strategy to combat AMR in order to curb the growing resistance to antimicrobial drugs, it is recommended to implement the WHO Antimicrobial Stewardship program at the inpatient and outpatient levels. Conducting educational activities on microbial examination and widespread introduction of rapid tests to identify microorganisms for rational choice of antimicrobial therapy into practical healthcare) The importance of developing a national database on pharmacogenetics was also recognized, which will improve the selection and dosage of drugs for patients in the Kazakhstani population. In order to support young scientists, it is recommended to expand support for competitions and grants for research by young scientists.

    As a result, the Congress provided a solid foundation for future initiatives that will contribute to improving the healthcare system in Kazakhstan and strengthening the country's position in the international scene.
