Students of the 10th and 11th grades from “Samga High School” of Karaganda, Comprehensive School named after Bauyrzhan Momyshuly of Karaganda, “Dostyq School Aqtau” of Aktau, and “Orken-Niet” Public Foundation of Taraz visited the the Center for Simulation and Educational Technologies and the Anatomical Museum of KMU.
Practical skills coaches Rita Akhmetkaliyevna Mukhametzhanova, Roza Nurekeshovna Yevloyeva, Roza Zhaibergenovna, Gulden Kamiyevna Idrissova, Marina Vladimirovna Timakhovich, and Yevgeniya Vladimirovna Sapalidi introduced the students with high-tech simulators at the Center. First aid technoqiues in acute diseases and injuries, bleeding due to injury, burns, cold injuries, and ligation have been demonstrated on special mannequins. In addition, practical sessions were conducted on preoperative stages and nurse’s operating tables for dressing adjustment, and the surgeon’s instrument table.

Moreover, school students practiced independently pain management, bleeding control, and restoring tissue integrity damaged during surgical interventions. Practical lectures were delivered to the future graduates on the rules of accidents prevention, first premedical aid, preoperative stages, preparing the patient for surgery and injection.
Furthemore, the Department of Morphology's Anatomy Unit, academic staff and assistant professors Aigerim Tolegenovna Bakbayeva and Saule Shaimuratovna Atshabarova, introduced the school students to the Anatomical Museum. Special consideration was given to exhibits demonstrating congenital defects, anencephaly (congenite insufficiency of the brain), newborns with fused legs (“mermaid syndrome”), conjoined twins/Siamese twins, and embalmed mummies preserved using ancient methods.

Career Development Center's specialist Aigulim Kalkenovna Ospanova emphasized that Karaganda Medical University is one of the leading universities in providing educational, scientific, diagnostic and treatment services. At the present time the university offers multi-level training of specialists (bachelor’s, master’s degree programs, residency, doctoral program, and continuing education). Admission of applicants is based on applications in accordance with the scores on the certificate issued on a competitive basis. At the end of the tour, the school students were provided with the relevant information, videos about the target score for admission, educational programs, and academic mobility. Many school students noted that their interest in medicine has increased owing to the tour. Some of them expressed a wish to enroll in our university.
