Historical heritage of South Kazakhstan: travel and knowledge
This is how Dilyara Issagulova, a student in the School of Medicine's 1045 group, originally titled her presentation, which she gave on December 4, 2024, at the regular meeting of Department of History of Kazakhstan and the SPD. Dilyara's vivid presentation, which included original images and videos, was dedicated to the historical landmarks of Southern Kazakhstan, which she saw during her visits. 1st - 4th year students, members of our club fr om among graduates, and young doctors gathered in our building's Assembly Hall to hear Dilyara's vivid story about a trip to the ancient city of Otyrar, which she accompanied with colorful photos of ancient streets and artifacts from a thousand-year-old city.
This academic year, at the meetings of the local history club, my colleagues and I are introducing first-year students to the history of trips and excursions over the 20 years that our club has existed at the department.
So this time, my colleagues and I told the students and showed photos and videos about the most memorable trips, excursions to the sights of the history and geography of Kazakhstan, including: in 2015 to the pass in the area of Lake Zhasybai (Bayanaul), wh ere a monument sign in honor of Zhasybai batyr was installed; in 2016-2024 to the monuments – the stone mausoleums of Begaza in the Aktogay district of the Karaganda region; about a trip in 2019 on the initiative of the teacher of history and philosophy of the foreign department of our department O.A. Kovtun – to the famous Charyn Canyon in the Almaty  region, to the Kolsay Lakes and Kaindy Lake; about climbing the "roof of the steppes" - Mount Aksoran in 2021 and 2024, and about many other interesting trips of our club. Among the regular participants of our community are not only students and graduates of our university, but also the head of our department – historian and sociologist S.A. Nikiforova, as well as teachers of our department: O.A. Kovtun, A.I. Ongarbayeva, B.B. Rysbekova, A.S. Lamanova; Assistant Professor at the Department of Morphology E.A. Kotov; sometimes teachers fr om other universities of Karaganda take an active part in meetings and excursions: K.M. Sisengaliyev from Karaganda Buketov University, local historian A.U. Ilyassova from Bolashak Academy, on whose initiative an international postcard was issued in Kazakh and English languages in September 2024 to mark the 20th anniversary of our club!
We displayed videos to the audience and new participants who came to the meeting that day about our recent visits to Saryarka - "A trip to the surroundings of Karkaraly" in 2022 and "A winter trip to Karkaraly" in 2024. Members of our club frequently edit the videos, especially S. Zhumanbayev, who is currently a resident of KMU, and D. Abdigafurov, a fourth-year student of General Medicine. It should be emphasized that our university's spokesperson, Yulana Chaus, uploaded these modest works on the KMU YouTube page, wh ere everyone can view them.
At the end of the presentation, D. Issagulova invited the meeting attendees, particularly the first-year students, to learn about Kazakhstan's rich and interesting history and culture, which dates back thousands of years! Following the audience's applause for a student's performance and, we believe, a new member of our club, Dilyara was presented with a diploma for participation in the department's student scientific club, signed by the head of the department, S.A. Nikiforova.
See you at the next meeting!
