On October 7, 2025, a meeting of the debate club (inter-university Student Research Society) was held on the topic of “GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease): modern approaches to diagnosis and treatment”.
Students from Astana Medical University, Karaganda Medical University and South Kazakhstan Medical Academy participated in the debate club among the departments of Family Medicine. Presentations were delivered by clinical fellows Alma Meiramovna Meiramova from the group 6-023, Aishat Nurkenkyzy Mynbai and Zukhri Abaikyzy Bazarbayeva from the group 6-023 on the topic of “Clinical features of GERD in children and adults” under the guidance of assistant professor of the Department of Family Medicine Lazat Sarsenbayevna Batyrbekova. During the debate, issues such as the clinical features of GERD in children and adults, possible pathogenetic features and treatment depending on age, and treatment options for complications were addressed. Prevention methods were also discussed.
