G.Kemelova, the head of the CSET, has joined the research team of the WHO Regional Office for Europe

Gulshat Kemelova, head of the Center for Simulation and Educational Technologies, has been included to the international research team of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe for the project "Developing Guidance for the Use of Simulation to Advance Patient Safety". All participants of the research team qualified extensively, including interviews and a comprehensive analysis of  professional and personal details of candidates. The research team includes leading experts from the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Norway.
This project focused on developing international recommendations for integrating simulation methods into healthcare and medical education systems to strengthen the culture of patient safety.
G. Kemelova's participation in the research team is a recognition of her professional experience and contribution to the development of simulation education in Central Asian countries. For 15 years, she has been participating in expert consultations, analyzing current practices, and drawing up proposals for the implementation of simulation and innovative technologies in medical training programs at the national and regional levels. Recently, G. Kemelova, in cooperation with with researchers from the University of Alberta (Canada) published an article on the topic of "A global survey of distress in simulation: Definition, frequency, and description" in the Q1Scopus "Clinical Simulation in Nursing" high impact factor journal. Currently, G. Kemelova is studying under a scholarship program at the international institute of FAIMER and she is the first and only representative of Kazakhstan in the entire history of this institute.
The inclusion of a Kazakhstani representative to the WHO international research group demonstrates the growing recognition of the contribution of our professionals in shaping the global agenda in medical education and patient safety.
