From April 17 to May 8, fourth-year students in the "Pediatrics" educational program, Zere Kareken and Aruzhan Toktamyssova, completed an academic mobility program at Azerbaijan Medical University in Baku.
As part of the "Differential Diagnostics and Treatment of Pediatric Diseases in Surgery" discipline, the students actively participated in outpatient visits, learned advanced diagnostic methods for surgical pathology in children, and gained valuable clinical experience from leading specialists in Azerbaijan.
A special emphasis was made on the practical aspect. Under the supervision of Professor Fariz Dzhamalov, Head of the Department of Surgical Diseases, the students observed and assisted in a variety of complex surgeries, including abdominal mass removal, hernioplasty for abdominal hernia, interventions for fecal peritonitis, breast diseases, and intestine blockage (such as bezoars, abdominal adhesions, etc.).
In addition, Aruzhan and Zere attended a scientific conference marking Azerbaijan Medical University's 95th anniversary, which served as a key milestone in their professional development and a platform for academic exchange.
Academic mobility is more than just studying; it is an immersion experience in an international clinical setting, a broadening of professional horizons, and a confident step toward a successful medical career.
We are grateful to KMU and AMU for this valuable opportunity to exchange professional knowledge!
