On October 26, 2023 on the clinical base of the University, Professor Saule Kabiyeva of the Department of Internal Medicine conducted a training seminar on effective teaching methods for medical universities at the Multidisciplinary Regional Children's Hospital. 

The event was attended by professors of the Department of Internal Medicine, heads of Departments of Clinical Pharmacology and Evidence-based Medicine, Pediatrics and Neonatology, coryphaeus of pediatrics, professor emerita Kulzhakhan Kenzhebayeva.

The seminar was based on the topic "Cardiac tamponade" with the participation of cardiology residents. During the training seminar various methods were presented: TBL (Team Based Learning) with the use of "Padlet" virtual whiteboard, "Snowball", Case-Based-Learning (CBL), pathogenesis construction with the help of flashcards, educational and scientific conference with the elements of RBL (Research Based Learning), "Fish bowl", presentation of a clinical case, etc.

The TBL method was demonstrated in more detail with the solution of a clinical task. After the discussion, each group posted their answers on the “Padlet” virtual whiteboard platform in real time. Professors had the opportunity to see immediately the residents' answers, evaluate, comment and give appropriate recommendations.

The demonstration of such teaching methods as offline survey using the "Snowball" method, pathogenesis construction using flashcards, video presentation of topic analysis using the CBL method were of interest among those present. The methodology with RBL elements - a poster session and a report at the educational and scientific conference was recognized as one of the most relevant in the work with residents.

The attending professors gave a high assessment to the training seminar, noted the importance of using effective methods to improve the quality of educational process in medical university. Head of the Department E.M. Laryushina made a suggestion to conduct systematic training seminars for young teaching staff of the Department, Head of the Department Sh.S. Kaliyeva offered interdepartmental cooperation.

We – residents as current actors, during the years of study we have gained a significant knowledge base and skills, which creates a reliable basis for our successful work in the future. During the training seminar, we acknowledged the great contribution of our educators to the educational process. We express our gratitude to the University, teachers of the Department for tireless work and creative approach in the process of preparing us for future independent work as cardiologists.
