A visiting session of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Karaganda. The development of medical science, the prospects of medicine of the future and its new frontiers have been discussed.

The participants got acquainted with the work of our university.

Ministers of healthcare, science and higher education of Kazakhstan, deputies of the Senate of the Parliament, academicians of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, heads of universities and research institutes, healthcare and non-governmental organizations participated in the discussion.

The President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akhylbek Kurishbayev did not ignore the issues: funding gap, employee scarcity, and the level of access to healthcare. Emphasis was placed on finding solutions on how to use technology to prevent, improve diagnosis and treatment. The development of domestic manufacture of pharmaceutical products and digital medicine should also be a priority.

- We must properly prioritize research areas in medicine and health care, taking into account the impact of global challenges of our time. It is also extremely important to create a system to promote healthy lifestyle among the population,” noted Akhylbek Kurishbayev.

Academician of the National Academy of Sciences Vyacheslav Lokshin shared his experience of using AI in reproductive medicine with colleagues.

- Today, every industry should consider the possibilities of using artificial intelligence, and this area can be developed only through multicenter serious research with a good investment fund. And then we will really gain a lot in terms of quality and reduction of expenses. Artificial intelligence can successfully replace specialists today. And doctors will communicate more closely with patients, who need it very much,” believes Vyacheslav Lokshin. 

Following the meeting a resolution on the development of medical science in Kazakhstan was adopted.
