Contribution to vaccination culture: panel discussion within the framework of the Immunization Week

As part of the annual Immunization Week, a round table was held at the Department of Internal Medicine at the Regional Allergy Center “DiVera”. The event was held in a warm and constructive environment, becoming an important platform for the exchange of knowledge, professional experience and scientific points of view. The main objective of the panel discussion was to draw the attention of the medical community and the general public to the importance of vaccination as one of the most effective tools of preventive medicine.

With the growing number of infectious diseases and increasing anti-vaccination sentiments in different countries, it is especially important for future specialists to develop a deep understanding of the scientific foundations and public significance of immunization.

The panel discussion was attended by the faculty of the immunological branch of the department, residents majoring in “Allergology and Immunology”, resident nephrologists, students of the 4-021 GM group, and doctors of the “DiVera” Regional Allergy Center. The event was moderated by Assistant Professor Olga Dedova, who emphasized that modern immunology is closely linked to practical healthcare, and proper vaccination makes it possible to effectively control many potentially dangerous diseases.

The following reports were presented during the panel discussion:

· 1st year resident D.K. Tabynbayeva — “Вакцинация от ВПЧ и пневмококковой инфекции” (“HPV and pneumococcal disease vaccination”);

· 1st year resident M.I. Nalobina — “Аллергия на компоненты вакцин” (“Allergy to vaccine components”);

· Assistant Professor M.R. Izmailovich — “Терапия поствакцинальных аллергических реакций” (“Therapy of postvaccinal allergic responses”).

Following the meeting, the participants unanimously noted the need for the active involvement of the medical community in educating the population, expanding educational programs on immunoprophylaxis and supporting research in this area.

The event was a significant contribution of the department to the development of vaccination culture and confirmed the high interest of students and medical professionals in discussing topical issues of immunoprophylaxis.
