22 October 2025
On October 17, 2025, a vibrant and engaging event took place that united second-year students from the international faculty's Medicine program studying Political Science, and first-year students from the Joint Educational Program "Medicine" in cooperation with Kazan State Medical University studying Economics. The singular event titled "Political and Economic Hackathon: Power & Money: Combining Authority and Capital" was organized by the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social-Political Sciences, which traditionally conducts interactive learning sessions in several languages. The key feature of this event was its out-of-the-box format: participants initially presented original reports in English on topics related to interrelation between power and economy. After that, the students were divided into five creative teams through a random draw. Each team received an unusual task, they had to solve non-standard cases, simulating complex economic and political scenarios.

Particularly noteworhty is the fact, that the event involved students training in different languages—Kazakh, English, and Russian. This multilingual approach fostered flexible thinking and encouraged active communication within diverse linguistic groups. The ability to navigate freely in international community of professionals has become a crucial factor for graduates of Karaganda Medical University’s success.
Solving cases independently demonstrated that students are capable of creatively addressing issues, developing innovative concepts, and quickly adapting to new conditions. Such competencies are essential for modern professionals working in a rapidly changing world.
The facilitators of this event were the tecahers of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social-Political Sciences: PhD, Associate Professor B. Bitenova, and Assistant Professor D.Y. Dzhakupova.
