KMU's Medical Resident is the Best Student of the CIS

On December 13, 2025, as part of the celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, awarding of the international competition “Best Student of the CIS 2025-2026” was held in Astana. The competition brought together students from the CIS countries, neighboring countries, and countries outside the CIS: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, and India.
First Degree Diploma and the honorary title of “Best Student of the CIS” were awarded to Tobylzhan Galymovich Salikov, a 2nd-year medical resident in the “Pediatrics” program. 
We would like to highlight the resident’s achievements in 2025:
Demonstrates a high level of academic performance GPA - 3.67.
Winner (First Degree Diploma) of the Republican Interuniversity Conference of Medical Residents and Young Scientists “Contemporary Topics in Pediatrics” (Shymkent, 2025).
Prizewinner of the intra-university competition “Territory of Emergencies” (Karaganda): 3rd place - April, 2025; 1st place - November, 2025.
In 2025, he was invited to join the external expert commission of IAAR (Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating) to conduct an international evaluation of the quality of education at Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University (Russian Federation); has a certificate from IAAR (level III expert).
In 2025, 4 scientific articles in the RSCI (Russian Science Citation Index) and 4 publications in electronic academic publications of international scientific conferences.
Participated in the preparation and implementation of research and development projects within grant funding for young scientists for 2025-2027 and 2026-2028.
In 2025, completed a certification online course in Healthcare Management at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, USA) and received an international certificate.
Winner in the “Best Article” nomination at the international scientific and practical conference with international partcipation on “School of Young Scientists ‘Young Researcher’” (Almaty, 2025).
Winner in the Best Debut nomination at the international scientific and practical conference of students, interns, and medical residents with specialization in Pediatrics “Young Pediatric Researcher 2025.”
Scientific activities and achieved results were carried out under the supervision of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology, Professor Bibigul Toleubayevna Tukbekova, and Candidate of Medical Sciences, Program Director of “Pediatrics,” Professor Galina Georgiyevna Yeremicheva.
This success is the result of perseverance, high professionalism, and sincere dedication to medicine.
