From November 13 to December 2, 2024, as part of the academic mobility program for students, students from the 4-001 group of the 6B10101 "Nursing" educational program of "Astana Medical University" NpJSC visited our university and successfully completed training in the "Palliative Care" discipline.

As part of the training, they underwent intensive practical training, which included visits to the leading medical institutions of Karaganda, such as "Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 3 of Karaganda" CSE on the right of economic management of the Department of Healthcare of Karaganda region, and "Multidisciplinary Hospital named after Professor Kh.F. Makazhanov" CSE on the Right to Economic Management.

The primary focus of the sessions was on active learning approaches. Students had an opportunity not only to get acquainted with the theoretical aspects of palliative care, but also to acquire in practice the most significant skills of working with patients in the end-stage of the disease.

Teachers and assistants at Karaganda Medical University's School of Nursing Education used interactive methods such as simulations in the Center for Practical Skills, role-playing games, solving clinical problems, and teamwork.

Studying at Karaganda Medical University has become a key stage in the training of students, providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to work in palliative medicine, which demands a specific approach, considerable empathy and expertise.
