Residents of Karaganda Medical University participated in an academic mobility program at the North-Western State Medical University named after I. I. Mechnikov (Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation) from April 6 to April 17, 2026.

Residents of the following specialties took part in the academic mobility program:
- specialty “Rheumatology (adult, pediatric)” — Shilov A.V.;
- specialty “Cardiology (adult, pediatric)” — Belgibayeva M.Zh., Zhagiparova M.B.

During the two-week internship, the residents gained valuable practical and theoretical experience in modern medicine. As part of the training, they participated in patient rounds, clinical case discussions, and observed the management of patients with various diseases according to their specialties.

Special attention was paid to modern diagnostic and treatment methods, including electrocardiography, echocardiography, interpretation of laboratory results, and principles of inpatient management (professional experience of residents in the specialty “Cardiology (adult, pediatric)”).

During the internship, participants also attended educational events, scientific conferences, lectures, and clinical case discussions, which contributed to the deepening of their professional knowledge and development of clinical thinking.

The academic mobility program allowed residents to exchange experience with colleagues and expand their professional competencies. The knowledge and practical skills gained will be effectively applied in their future clinical practice.
