On April 9, 2026, a Republican research and training conference dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the prominent statesman and public figure Alikhan Bokeikhan was held at Karaganda Medical University. The event was organized by the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social-Political Disciplines, along with “Күретамыр” (Kuretamyr) local history club.

Students from Karaganda, Astana, Almaty, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Kostanay, and Taraz participated in the conference both online and offline, presenting their research papers. The program included a tour of the university, as well as a book exhibition organized by Karaganda Regional Junior Library named after Zh. Bekturov.

During the general session, the university administration and invited guests delivered speeches highlighting the importance of Alikhan Bokeikhan’s legacy and his role in shaping national consciousness. The presentations provided a comprehensive analysis of his personality, political views, and his contribution to the country’s development.

Break-out sessions focused on the legacy of the "Alash" movement's figures and social-philosophical aspects in medicine, fostering meaningful  discussion.

At the conclusion of the event, the best presentations were awarded, and the conference was highly evaluated as an important platform for exchange of knowledge and ideas.
