In accordance with the article 31 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Science and Technology Policy,” with the purpose of encouraging researchers and research fellows of research centers and higher and/or postgraduate education organizations, who contributed to the development of science and technology, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – the Ministry) announces a competition for the annual award “Best Researcher”.

Applications for participation in the competition are accepted via the information system of the Ministry at scicontest2025 within 20 consecutive days from the date (November 13) of publication of the competition announcement.

Scientific evidence of an applicant for the Award will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

1. having academic credentials recognized in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
2. having an academic rank awarded by the authorized agency;
3. management of scientific projects and programs in the selected research area;
4. presence and quality of scientific results in the selected research area (articles or reviews in peer-reviewed journals, domestic and international monographs, chapters in monographs, patents, and others);
5. availability of articles in prestigious international peer-reviewed journals in the selected research area in co-authorship with leading foreign researchers;
6. teaching one or more courses at a higher and/or postgraduate education organization within the past year;
7. training of specialists who have been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor in a specialized field;
8. confirmed results of scientific and scientific and technological activities in manufacturing application;
9. social work focused on improving the quality, outcome, and impact of scientific studies.
